John Farenzena was born on August 14, 1911. He was the son of Giovanni Farenzena and Maria Domenica Maccagnan Farenzena. Farenzena was an employee of the Bridgeville News when he entered service in April, 1942. He was a member of the Italian Mutual Beneficial Society of Bridgeville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the Engineers of the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 32 and is now buried in Saint Agatha Cemetery, Bridgeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA.
