He was noted as being employed as a Bookkeeper and/or cashier and also as Single, without dependents. John served as a Private First Class, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Arrondissement de Liège, Liège, Belgium.
