Charles E. Morgan was born on January 4, 1923. He was the son of Joe Knox Morgan and Veta Stewart Morgan. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company L, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 21 and is now buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Sardis, Panola County, Mississippi, USA.
