Joseph M. Uzzo was born on February 3, 1920. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Saint Bernard's Cemetery, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument on Omaha Beach, France and ranked as a Private.
