He resided in Allegany County, Maryland prior to the war. Edward served as a Private First Class in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was "Killed In Action" during the Battle of Aachen in Germany and is now buried in Florence American Cemetery and Memorial, Florence, Cittą Metropolitana di Firenze, Toscana, Italy.
