Charles Franklin Cumberledge was born on March 21, 1925 in Wayne Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Louie H. Cumberledge and Georgia Naomi Carpenter Cumberledge. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 12, 1944 in Germany at the age of 19 and is now buried in Pine Bank Cemetery, Pine Bank, Greene County, Pennsylvania, USA.
