Otto Alfred Kuenzi was born on September 19, 1921 in Argyle, Lafayette County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Ernest Kuenzi and Clara Friedli Kuenzi. Otto enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 16 November 1942. He attended high school for 1 year. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He participated with the 1st Infantry Division in the battle for Tunisia, the invasion of Sicily and Operation Overlord, where he landed at Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944. He was Killed in Action on September 4, 1944 in Bois de la Lanière, Belgium and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
