Edward A. Gill was born on July 4, 1917 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Corporal in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on August 1, 1944 but was declared "Missing In Action." His name is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA.
