Raymond Armoska, aged 30, was born on October 1, 1914 in Illinois. He was the son of John and Caroline Armoska. Raymond was the pilot of B-24D #42-41253, which crashed into a mountain twenty miles east-northeast of Mokokchung near Nagaland, India on March 19, 1945. All four men aboard were killed. He shares a common grave with F/O Bryan R. Gilliam in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA.

He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
