Arthur T. Barr, aged 27, was born on February 15, 1917 in Pennsylvania. He served in the 3841st Quartermaster Truck Company, 478th Quartermaster Battalion as a Technician Fifth Grade. He was Killed in Action on May 2, 1944 in a plane crash in the Burma Theater while serving as a "Kicker" crew member of a supply plane. Barr is now buried in the Oak Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hanover, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
