Marvin Kenneth Crausby was born on November 25, 1922 in Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi. He was the son of Howard Augustus Crausby and Teresa Francis Crausby. He attended SFA College, Nacogdoches for two years. At the outbreak of the war, he volunteered for service in the Air Corps at the age of 19. He was a Co-Pilot on a B-24 which he and his crew flew to Asia in June 1943. He was stationed in India ofr a short time and flew supplies from there to China over the "Hump" and was stationed with the 14th Air Force. He was returning from a bombing mission when he was killed on August 25, 1943. He is now buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Shelby County, Texas, USA.

Howard was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
