Donald J. Ferron was born on June 2, 1924, in Ohio, son of Joseph W. Ferron and Evelyne M. Ferron. He began his air training on March 9, 1943, and was awarded his wings and commission on January 7, 1944, at Eagle Pass, Tex. He served in the 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action in the crash aboard his P-51 #42-106696 aircraft on August 10, 1944. 2LT Ferron is now buried in the Saint Mary Cemetery, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, USA.
