Joseph Temple Price was born on November 30, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Edmund Price and Grace Mary Temple Price. He served in the 379th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.

On December 2, 1944, Price's Thunderbolt had been hit by flak and crashed into a forest between Schœnenbourg, France and Eichelscheiderhof, Germany. When German troops reached the crash, they found Price dead in the cockpit from head wounds. 2LT Price is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Fairlawn Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
