Charles Blanchard Narehood was born on May 19, 1922. He served in the 378th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group as a First Lieutenant during World War II. On July 30, 1944, 1Lt. Narehood took off from A-12 airfield at Lignerolles, France on a ground troop support mission. He flew in n°3 of the Blue flight but he was shot by flak at 20:15 and crashed north north-east of Percy - 9 km north of Villedieu-les-Poêles, France. He was declared Missing in Action on July 31, 1945 and is memorialized on the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
