Joseph Blum was born on October 24, 1923. He was the son of Abraham Blum and Rose Liedman Blum. He served in the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division, as a Private during World War II. He died on September 17, 1944, at the age of 20, and is now buried in the Montefiore Cemetery, Jenkintown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA. Pvt Blum was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
