John Lubich was born on October 23, 1916, in Flint, Michigan. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaso Lubich.

At the time of his induction, John was employed by the Crucible Steel Co. of Midland, Pa. He served in the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division, as a Private during World War II. He died on September 16, 1944, in Hollands Kroon Municipality, Netherlands, at the age of 27. He is now buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. Pvt Lubich was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
