Samuel A. Greenwood, Jr. was born in 1897 in Niagara Falls, New York. He was the son of S. A. Greenwood.
Samuel was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919. He died on August 11, 1918, in Issoudun, when he accidentally fell from his airplane. His current burial place is unknown.
