Elwood H. Hooper was born on November 12, 1895, in New York. He entered military service in Pennsylvania and served in the 3rd Aviation Instruction Center as a Second Lieutenant during World War I. 2Lt Hooper was killed in an airplane accident in France on December 23, 1918. He is now buried in the St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. He was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919.
