Lester Frank Robie was born on August 31, 1891, in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the Aviation Corps during World War I as a Corporal. Lester died o pneumonia in Issoudun, France, on September 23, 1918, and is now buried in the Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, Cook County, Illinois, USA. His unit on his headstone reads "13th Co 4th Regiment." Cpl Robie was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919.
