Arthur J. Stahler was born in 1893 in Ohio. He was the son of Charles H Stahler and Louise M Hendricks Stahler.

Arthur served in the US Air Service Signal Reserve Corps a Second Lieutenant during World War I. He was killed in an airplane accident in France on August 21, 1918, and is now buried in the Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA. 2Lt Stahler was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919.
