Roger Melvin Pisacreta was born on June 6, 1940, in Trail, British Columbia, Canada. He was the son of Domenico Pisacreta and Carmela (Picone) Pisacreta of Trail, British Columbia, who predeceased her son. Brother of Tristano, Dominico "Gordie"; Gretnoro "George"; and of sisters Shirley Ann Pisacreta and Silda Nastasi.

Roger served in the US Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sgt before enlisting in the US Army and becoming a Chief Warrant Officer III (Reserve).
He arrived for duty in Vietnam on June 16, 1970, where he was assigned to and served with the 219th Aviation Company, 223rd Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, USARV.

On March 10, CWOII Piscareta was piloting an O-1 aircraft on a mission in Binh Dinh Province when contact with the aircraft was lost and he was reported as being Missing In Action. His status as Missing was reported as dead on August 5, 1971.
