John Charles Biddle was born on December 12, 1921, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Army on July 18, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Single, without dependents.

John served in Company A, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 22, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. SSgt Biddle is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
