Raymond James Dillon, of Freeport, Illinois, served in the #408 Goose Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He was a crew member on the Hampden aircraft # AT 224 that was engaged in a night-time laying operation when they crashed in the sea off Denmark, between Odder and Samso Island.
