Jerome Resler was born on December 25, 1922. He was the son of Sam Resler and was from Brooklyn, New York.
Staff Sergeant Jerome Resler was a crew member of B-24 (42-51285) 'Got-to-hav-it' of the 760th Bomber Squadron, 460th Bomber Group, 15th US Air Force. On November 22, 1944 flying out of Spinazzala, Italy he was on a bombing mission to Salzburg, Austria when his plane was shot down by flak over Lienz. He survived the jump out of the plane only to succumb to wounds 10 days later in an Austrian hospital on December 2, 1944.(MACR 5597)
