Lawrence Elroy Cargill was born on August 6, 1922, in Malvern, Mills County, Iowa. He was the son of Clarence Elroy Cargill and Florence Rebecca Moore Cargill.
Lawrence served in the 66th Squadron, 44th Bomb Group, as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator on the B-24 #41-28795 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on May 8, 1944, when his aircraft crashed in the marshes of Halvergate, England.
