Charles Corbett Shadle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was the son of Charles C. Shadle and Hazel V. Shadle, of Melrose, New Mexico. He served in the #21 Operational Training Unit of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 15, 1942, when his Wellington aircraft crashed near the Park Drain Railway Station, Yorkshire, England.
