Thomas Russell Sherrill was born in 1922 in South Carolina. He was the son of David Lorenza Sherrill and Louise C Connelley Sherrill.
Thomas served in the 408 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer. He was Killed in Action on May 23, 1944, when his Lancaster aircraft # DS 759 was shot down northwest of Krefeld, at Harefield, Germany, while making a night attack against Dortmund, Germany.
