Corwin Cuatt Jr. was born on December 14, 1920, in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York. He was the son of Corwin Cuatt Sr. and Lena May Kent Cuatt.

Corwin served in the 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 7, 1944, during the liberation of Vire, France. T5 Cuatt is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
