He was Pilot Officer 67580 serving with No. 133 Squadron of the Royal Air Force, during World War Two.
He was piloting Hurricane ll3 Z3649 when it hit trees near a place called "Roslarkin" - (this should probably be Rasharkin, near Ballymena, Northen Ireland). He was originally from Winnipeg, Canada and was connected with Saskatoon. He joined the RAF in 1919 at the outbreak of WW2.
In his honour, Bruce Bay, Lidster Lake, Manitoba, Canada, was named in his honour.
