Edward Leonard Ogden was born on November 27, 1925, in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. He was the son of Frank Ogden and Helen R. Wolhar Ogden. He enlisted in the Army on January 19, 1944. He served in Company L, 273rd Infantry Regiment, 69th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Ogden was Killed in Action on April 13, 1945, during the Battle of Weißenfels in Germany. He is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
