Rayder C. Olson was born on July 9, 1918, in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was the son of Frank Ogden and Helen R. Wolhar Ogden. He enlisted in the service on August 28, 1941. He served in the 271st Infantry Regiment, 69th Infantry Division, as a Corporal during World War II.
Cpl Olson was Killed in Action on April 13, 1945, during the Battle of Weißenfels in Germany. He is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
