Dale Edwin Stacy was born on May 2, 1923 in Lyons, Greene County, Indiana. He was a graduate of Switz City High School, entered the service on August 18, 1943. Dale served in the 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Technician Fifth Grade during World War II. He was killed in the Battle of the Bulge with eleven other men in his company as they struggled forward in deep snow under heavy and accurate German gunfire during the liberation of Weiswampach in northern Luxembourg. He is now buried in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Lyons, Greene County, Indiana, USA at the age of 21.
