Joseph E. Polson was born on September 17, 1920. He served in the 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Corporal during World War II. He was killed in the Battle of the Bulge with eleven other men in his company as they struggled forward in deep snow under heavy and accurate German gunfire during the liberation of Weiswampach in northern Luxembourg. He is now buried in the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crystal City, Jefferson County, Missouri, USA at the age of 24.
