TSgt Albert W. Chase, belly gunner of the B-17 42-31927, took off from station 117 in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, UK on a bombing mission over Rouen. They were shot down by flak at 1305. Seven crew members were able to bail out successfully. Chase was not.
