2nd Lt Gilbert J. Gorski, navigator of the B-26 Marauder 42-95910 “Wizard of Koz”, took off from station 169 in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, UK on a bombing mission over Siracourt. They were shot down by flak at 1940. Gorski was killed.
