Jean Adam Brunner was an American soldier who fought in WWI. He was born in Pont-a-Mousson, France, where there is a memorial at the house he was born in. He returned to France in November, 1918 as a member of the First Army headquarters and later with the headquarters of Base Section No. 1. He served as a member of the Judge Advocate General's department. After the war, he became very involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization, eventually serving as the Commander and Chief of the VFW. He died May 21, 1951 at Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York, following a prolonged illness.
