Andrew J. Filip was born in 1908 in Connecticut. He resided in Fairfield County, Connecticut prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on December 13, 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous electrical equipment and also as Married. Andrew served as a Private, 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. Andrew was "Killed In Action" near Saulx-de-Vesoul, France.
