When Arthur Owen Dreyer was born on May 29, 1912, in Ohio, his father, Bernard, was 23 and his mother, Eliza, was 20. He married Mary Papa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He entered service in Ohio on July 26, 1943. He died on August 28, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme, Ashtabula County, Ohio, USA.
