When Blair Ellsworth Miller was born on April 20, 1920, in Preston, West Virginia, his father, Junior, was 25 and his mother, Elsie, was 29. He married Elizabeth Mae Hartman on May 3, 1941, in Red House, Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He entered service in West Virginia. He died on August 27, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Grafton National Cemetery, Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia, USA.
