When Albert Edward Rebbe was born in 1915 in Illinois, his father, Charles, was 28 and his mother, Anna, was 25. He married Jacqueline F. James on December 26, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska. They had one child during their marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He entered service in Nevada. He died on August 27, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial, Draguignan, Departement du Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.
