"TRENTON, MISSOURI

PFC Charles A. Reckart, 32 years, son of Mrs. Dorothy L. Reckart, 2511 Elmwood Ave., was killed in France August 23.

The War Department informed his wife, Mrs. Emma Heighes Reckart of 6037 Park Ave. Prior to entering the army in August 1943, he was a clerk at the post office. He had been overseas since February and had fought in the Italian Campaigns. He was graduated from East High School in 1930. 

He is survived also by twin daughters; Marlene and Charlene; 1 month old and a grandmother Mrs. Emma Hack. Three brothers, Lieut. Max Wayne Reckart in Italy; Bernard Reckart, and Garland B. Reckart, apprentice seaman of Farrogut, Idaho."
