When K. V. "Saint" Voyles was born on October 30, 1916, in Texas, their father, Edward, was 20 and their mother, Bertha, was 18. He had three brothers and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He entered service in Texas on January 1941, trained at Camp Bowie. He served in Africa, Sicily, Italy and France. He died on August 30, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Red Hill Cemetery, Murchison, Henderson County, Texas, USA.
