Lawrence Eugene McCraw served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II as a First Lieutenant in the 357th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Group. He entered the service in Kentucky. He was killed in action on 15th November 1943 flying in P-47D serial no. 42-8408. He is now buried in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA.
