When Donald B. Liddell was born on July 12, 1919, their father, Bernard, was 42 and their mother, Lillian, was 33. They had five children. He entered the military service in Utah. He served in the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion of World War II as a Private First Class in A Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He died on March 22, 1992, during Operation Market Garden, and is now buried in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA.
