Michele Chimienti was born on March 9, 1888 and was from Bari, Italy. He immigrated to the US in 1917 and became a US Citizen in 1916. He was from Adams County, Washington State.

Missing for Michele Chimienti, placed next to a she-entrance to villa "ter elst". The soldier died in the garden of the villa and the then owner had a grafzerkje set up where the soldier had died. After the war, the soldier could be identified and in 1922 his remains were transferred to the Flanders Field American cemetery . After the tombstone had been lost for decades, the stone was recovered a few years ago and placed at current location in 2003 At the corner of a private park and Chateau Residence Castle at elst marker an upright Rectangular Blue / Grey Granite Slab 75 cms tall, resting on an identical type of base with Memorial Plaque in bass relief.
