Donald Lyman Archibald was born on December 1894. He was the son of son of Mr. and Mrs. James Archibald. He was a brother of Lee Archibald of Olean. He lived in Kane five years and was employed by a window glass company. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War I as a Private in A Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on November 6, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
