When Walter E. Drummond was born on August 12, 1895, in Coles, Illinois, his father, William, was 49 and his mother, Mary, was 26. He had seven brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War I as a Corporal in K Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on November 07, 1918 and is now buried in Janesville Cemetery, Pleasant Grove Township, Coles County, Illinois, USA.
