Nathan Teitelman entered the military service in Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company F, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action in Chateau Thierry but declared "Missing" on July 19, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument with the 28th Infantry. He also has a marker in Adas Israel Cemetery, Westville, New Haven County, Connecticut, USA.
