The site is located on the west bank of the Elbe River in the German city of Torgau. Torgau a town on the banks of the Elbe in northwestern Saxony, Germany. It is the capital of the district Nordsachsen. The site (Denkmal der Begegnung) is located just north of the bridge across the Elbe (Elbebrucke) and is just in front of Schloss (Castle) Hartenfels along the river.
