The site is located in the city of Maastricht in southeastern Netherlands. Maastricht is the capital and largest city of the province of Limburg. Maastricht is located on both sides of the Meuse (Maas) river. The site, known locally as Monument Old Hickory, in the Randwyck neighborhood on the bank of the river Meuse.
